We believe reading, whether for pleasure, education or business, can open minds to new worlds and ideas that enrich our lives and help us grow as individuals. Bookmarks aims to serve the West Chester community by providing enjoyment, escape, knowledge, and comfort through a diverse offering of books and gifts.
Ty and Lisa met while at Penn State and both graduated in the early 1990s. Lisa has spent most of her career working for and with Pennsylvania newspapers focused on graphic design, marketing and event planning. She completed her first bookselling course through the Professional Bookseller School.
Ty has more than 30 years of experience in sales, consulting and training leadership and continues in his corporate sales management role.
Ty and Lisa’s twin daughters, Kaleigh and Julia, will be in the store during special holidays and weekends, and occasionally taking over our social media accounts. Kaleigh is pursuing her PhD in Economics at the University of South Carolina and is also a Penn State graduate. Julia is a West Chester University graduate and Incomparable Golden Ram Marching Band alum. She is an elementary band director in Howard County, Maryland.
The Strohl family fell in love with West Chester and is excited to be a part of this vibrant community. Thank you for welcoming us so enthusiastically.
